Twenty-two years ago, Leslie Rubin founded the Break the Cycle Program with a clear, urgent purpose: to break the cycle of poverty and address its devastating intergenerational impact on children’s health and well-being.
Leslie understood early on that poverty is more than just a financial struggle—it is a health crisis that passes from one generation to the next.
Under Dr. Rubin's leadership, the program has worked tirelessly to:
Combat Health Disparities: Addressing the social, economic, and environmental factors that affect a child’s physical and mental health.
Protect Vulnerable Youth: Providing resources to improve the quality of life for children growing up in adverse circumstances.
Empower Future Leaders: Cultivating a new generation of researchers and advocates dedicated to environmental health and social justice.
